I haven't quit using this since I got it. It's certainly made juggling my phone while traveling easier!
It holds the phone nice and tight and the clips fit perfectly in my RAV4 vents. For me, this was a great purchase. After shopping around a lot, I found this to be the perfect fit for my Droid X. I also found that all Droids are not created equal. Overall I've been able to adjust and orient this mount into 2 separate vehicles with success, and it's a perfect substitute for the $40 OEM car mount that's less expensive and more versatile. This works much better than many of the others I have tried and at Pros: High quality material. I was surprised at the good quality for the price and would consider purchasing other items from Arkon now. I have used it for several months and it works perfect on my 2009 accord. I have installed this on my Accord windshield without any issues and it seems to be working fine for my iPhone 4S. No issues in placing or removing the phone.
As soon as I started driving, the screen became very fuzzy for the thing started shaking a lot. I used it with an iPhone 4, and a Mazda Miata.
They're still soft enough to provide a good grip without being too tight. The push button release for the ratcheting arms is quick and easy to use, and so far hasn't released unprompted.
The swivel holds reasonably well even if it's a little loose so I can adjust the orientation without having to unscrew and tighten it again. I'm really impressed with the large number of adjustments that can be made within the simple design. Very versatile and only a little bouncy (but that may be my POS minivans fault) All in all for how cheap it is you can't go wrong. The window mount is excellent, especially for the price.
The whole mount ended up falling off when I was driving. Since then, I have been using the dashboard/windshield suction mount and everything's fine. This mount has been rock solid for me, and I've had zero problems with it...only positive experiences. The vent mount isn't the perfect fit for my vents (Scion xB), but I've managed to get it to work just fine.
It is an inexpensive device, a little more bulky than necessary on the sides of the mount (and why would you want that if you have a sleek phone?). Mostly does what it is supposed to and is cheap, which is what I was going for being skeptical as to whether it would fit correctly. The vent clips are poorly designed, and have a hard time holding onto the vents. Though they have several teeth implying you can set them deeper in for better grip, only one set of all those teeth is actually aligned to grab the vent properly.
The swivel ball is also poorly designed. When mounted in a vent, which notoriously won't be very close to you, the mount will not allow the phone so swivel left/right far enough to have a clear direct view of the device.
