Water got in the camera and damaged it. I would suggest buying a different brand if you want to use it for underwater pictures. My rating does not reflect the camera itself, just the fact that Olympus apparently decided to ignore a significant and growing percentage of their market, Mac users. I expect more from Olympus. This is by far one of the toughest little cameras I have ever seen. I recommend it and to those of you who have had issues with yours, consider sending them back for a replacement. So now I ended up spending a lot of money on a broken camera. I'm hoping Olympus will fix it and that I just got a bad apple. Good price, nice clear pictures. It has a built-in owner's manual to some extent, but when we tried to initialize it following that manual it jammed up and wouldn't complete the function.
I really enjoy how this camera works, very pleased. This camera rocks! Far away pictures looked soft and lacked any detail. Now granted this water park was indoors but it was fairly well lit so that's not an acceptable excuse.
All in all, the quality is great for what I need it to be. Point, shoot, forget. I was a little nervous at first about dunking it in water but it worked great for underwater pictures and video. I need an extra battery and I bought a 16 GB SD card which gave me over 4000 pictures or over 5 hours of video.
On opening it up - it had got water in, shorted the battery and the terminal. Two days and it fails - never buy this! The pictures are looking great and the zoom is perfect for us. We travel a good bit and this camera is easy to use and easy to carry in my purse.
Otherwise, it is fantastic! If you follow the instructions, it is easy to use, with no leaking possible. There are so many more disappointing things about this camera that it's almost not worth typing. It's still not working after 2 months now.
The video is also great, 720p image quality, and great sound too. The only con is that the panoramic mode under if used as automatic is not very good. All I have to do now is wait for my little Cannon Powershot to kick the bucket, Ok so I did some shopping around before I decided on this camera because my old camera broke. Though this camera was more expensive than some of the other camera's I looked at, I chose this one for a couple of reason's over the others: 1.
