Fantastic Cost For The Quality - Online Business Software Critique

I would think that the English speaking market would be a large portion of their customer base. Obviously Quicken doesn't agree. Internet Explorer 8: Quicken defaults to Internet Explorer for web page viewing and basically anything else it needs done in terms of going online. Even though I am an avid Firefox/Chrome user, I recommend using IE 8 for Quicken. This junkware is nothing more than ads for other Intuit products. Fortunately, all you have to do is send these items to the recycle bin to be rid of them. Questions on the Quicken forums are answered to the best of their ability but it hasn't got me any closer to success. I've actually given up on tracking my investments actively, excited though I was to have a tool that should be able to help me.

Now a week and change into owning Quicken, it's been a bittersweet experience. It's good for tagging and setting aside my occasional business expenses, and once I managed to wrangle the interface I've found it useful for organizing my business clients and invoices. I plan on contacting Quicken for a solution. I definitely recommend the software but Quicken could stand to make it more flexible and easier to perform some operations. Of course a spreadsheet could do most of that stuff too. I was hopeful that this version of Quicken would manage my data from Interactive Brokers since it is listed as "supported".

Anyway, I love the product. I would recommend it to my friends and family. If I get downloads to be successful for a whole WEEK, I'd be amazed.

It's a bit like our government both sides are blaming each other with no resolution in sight. Don't waste your money! After upgrading to 2011, Quicken created 36 reminders that could not be deleted. Their customer support was unable to figure out the problem and suggested (after an hour on the phone) that I downgrade and retry the installation.

I used Quicken 2009 as best I could, some things like my credit cards would not download (they still don't). 2011 is not worth the frustration. I would take it back if I could get back a working 2007, but I need something to track finances so I'm stuck.

Three weeks later, still no contact from the higher-ups, but 2 updates appeared that supposedly address this problem, so I guess it wasn't just me (although customer service sure made me feel like it was). For now, that part of it at least seems to work.

It needs to be more user friendly, offer troubleshooting tips, more helps, and should show examples of different scenarios. How and where to enter transactions that you want documented in your Business account as well as your personal accounts that you use to pay for expenses.
