It Really Works - Personal Finance Software Program Review

|

It's a great budgeting program. The good thing about the software application is not only the software, but the 10 day course that comes with it.

At the end of the month I expect to have an additional $500 left over, ear marked for a slush fund, and paying for medicines and such. Also, I set aside mad money for my wife to use on herself, not me, or clothes, hygiene, just on stuff of $150.

I can transfer transactions between accounts. I could go on and on!

I saw my parents struggle and argue in regards to money. I'm 31 and I have been struggling with money my entire adult life.

I loved the feeling that Jesse was talking to me. I loved the YNAB 10 day eCourse. I think automating this process is crucial. I hope to see more features come to this product, because they have a good start. Unfortunately, it fails to achieve that final star of perfection in two areas: the previously mentioned confusion it can cause with uncategorized items and operating under rule two, as well as some of the most useless reports I've ever seen in a money-focused software package. To be fair, though, there is an export function where the ambitious can export the data to Excel and create their own reports. That is why the program encourages you to save money for emergencies. That way, if something comes up, I don't have to worry about it affective the rest of my budget. Instead of struggling, I'm now LIVING. What could be better than that"!" Get it! I've used financial software on and off for years (Quicken, Peachtree, Managing your Money, MS Money, you name it). Reviews for Quicken have continued to go down...so I didn't even try it. Then just last month, I stumbled into the world of YNAB.

And, with the new job and the pay increase, we had a little breathing room, but we really needed to do something about budgeting and learning to live within our means. I tried for two months to make Quickens budgeting process work for me, but I never could figure out where or how Quicken arrived at what it spit out at me each month, I tried creating my own spreadsheets, but nothing seemed to work for me.

I've been doing this budget for over a year now and Love it! I never go into overdraft.

And a working sync system between the iPhone app and the desktop app. I've only used it for more than a month but I haven't found anything to complain about.

This program is exactly was it claims. Our only issue is that is takes a lot of time & focus to set up.
