Broken Asus laptop screen? - Use these tips to find a replacement

Asus the company is based in the Far East and is currently producing around 150,000 laptops and 2 million motherboards per month. They also produce components for other laptop manufacturers so their pedigree is certainly not to be questioned.

Although Asus make laptops and motherboards, they do not actually make their own laptop screens. This might sound surprising to some given the firm's size and presence, however to set up such a facility is a huge undertaking and because technology is moving at such a fast pace the investment needed would be prohibitive.

If you need a replacement screen for your Asus, the three things that can be used to identify a particular laptop screen are the screen size, the resolution of the screen and whether the screen is CCFL or LED. As a rule of thumb it's better to opt for a screen with a higher resolution as the number of pixels will be more meaning a better quality image and clearer display.

The specification of the laptop screen should be included in the documentation which came with the laptop. If however you can't find this and there is no other information to be found, you can visit a website which will be able to detect the resolution for you.

The next thing you need to determine is whether the screen is LED or CCFL. This can be done if you remove the screen from its casing and look at the connecting wires. If the screen is connected via a small white plug and two small thin wires, the screen is a CCFL type. When you have the above information, finding a laptop screen should be a lot easier.

Laptop screens are available for the Asus EEE PC laptop screen, Asus F3E Screen and Asus G72 direct from the manufacturer or other internet sources. Replacement screen prices are very reasonable and parts arrive packed appropriately. It's always advisable to buy a screen with a warranty so you can send it back if it stops working.
