Celebrity Style - The Jewels in the Crown

When it comes to true chic, someone once said, 'less is more'. And sometimes as we know, that can be true. A really good designer dress needs only a pair of fabulous shoes and one great piece of jewellery, to accentuate its simple perfection.

The traditional string of pearls or row of diamonds are not as easy to get hold of as the films make out, for those of us on more modest budgets we can still find fashion jewellery that does the same great job for a fraction of the price. Your choice is not hindered though, as there are so many styles out there for affordable prices. You can choose from a huge rock at the end of a long chain, to lots of tiny beads on a choker and will be sure to find something that is a perfect representation of you.

Fashion jewellery can be inspired by anything: A period of history perhaps, or an iconic design phase, such as art deco, or Georgian. Other countries and cultures also offer us a multitude of fabulous styles, materials and inspiration. From South American Indian leather cords and beading, to Mediterranean earthenware beads, filigree Russian silver, venetian glass, or even English carved wood, a fashion necklace can be made of just about anything.

Cheryl Cole, Kim Kardashian and Pixie Lott are celebrity fashion icons who are known for expertly mixing and matching their outfits according to their mood, event or to make fashion statements. The quickest way to achieve this is with a striking fashion necklace.

The reason Cheryl is so popular with the nation is because we can relate to her style - she makes the things we can afford look like they cost the earth, just by making sure it is in the right environment to come across like that. Mixing expensive with high street brands, making sure her hair and neckline are perfect - she creates a look which screams perfection but we all know that we can find that same piece in the shops where we frequent. From collars to long beaded necklaces, she constantly surprises us with something new.

Kim Kardashian, with her own new range of fashion jewellery, has been rising to bigger and better... necklaces! She's been hitting the papers with pieces inspired by Egypt, heavy metal collars, layered up with fringes, speckled with various stones and metal pieces.

Pixie Lott has been representing the vintage style with large lockets which transformed into a must have accessory all through the country, and in true Pixie style is seen often in a range of 'pixie' necklaces.

Flicking through any magazine we see how celebrities pull off a different look every day to suit a different mood or occasion - and now it is our turn. We do not have stylists or the need to have a different outfit every day, we can change the style of any simple dress just by the necklace we put it with. Find yourself a unique necklace that reflects your personality and 'wow' everyone with your style. You can even just work the one outfit for the entire day and go straight from your work gear out for drinks, and just put on the statement necklace, ruffle up your hair and you are good to go - a new more relaxed look entirely - without the need for a personal shopper at your beck and call!
